This trip has had about 14months of preparation.
Last year at the Winter sales I bought some ski gear over half price.
This winter I bought thermals and waterproof shoes.
I wonder how leather boots go in the slush?
I have read that salt is put on the ice to prevent slipping and that the salt kills leather.
I have downloaded a list of Thrift shops in Geneva so J can purchase ski gear and turtle neck tops and boots at an affordable price.
Bishops have been contacted in Geneva and they will organise transport for J to youth/seminary activities.
Bro C gave J a priesthood blessing. She will come home safely. So no mis-directed missiles will effect us on this occasion.
I am glad she is not flying Qantas. Actually, its been years since we flew Qantas.
Classes have been organised at the Geneva school which match what she is doing here.
I now have my Passport in case I am needed at short notice.
I have written a card for each week she is away so she has something to open and read
and will know her mum is thinking about her CONSTANTLY!
She has been very affectionate. I have been getting hugs every evening.
She has 2 YR 12 exams Thursday/Friday and then flies out Saturday.
She'll barely feel the recovery after exams before she launches into her new adventure.
As long as James the cat is affectionate and friendly, she'll have a much needed ally and comforter.
She is keen to know what movies she can catch up with on the 24hrs in the air.
I have bought vac bags so we can suck the air of bulky items like ski jackets and have them fit more comfortably in the suitcase.
A bit unfair that she is only allowed 23 kg. Might be ok for Summer, but winter???Lucky she's not taking ski boots etc.
